چکیده
Objective: To compare the findings of cranial ultrasound and computed tomographic (CT) scans in infants with post-meningitis complications. Methodology: A prospective analysis 124 consecutive term was conducted department radiology at Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences, Islamabad from August 2021 to April 2022. Transfontanelle ultrasonography performed a two-dimensional Sonoace 1500 scanner (Medison Inc, South Korea 1995) equipped 6.5 megahertz (MHz) curvilinear small head probe. Sagittal coronal sections were scanned using standard techniques. We included all confirm cases meningitis came our hospital period through non probability sampling, which fulfilled required sample size test objective population. Results: The average age 4 months, 71 (57.3%) males 53 (42.7%) females. Ultrasonography results confirmed by CT patients. diagnostic accuracy found be 32.14%. Seizures disorders most common complication observed study Conclusion: Using transfontanelle ultrasound, it is possible diagnose lesions inside infant's brain. are often requested for hydrocephalus detection abnormal findings. Infants post-meningitic complications commonly suffer seizures. In post meningitic complications, can still used as an early non-invasive modality despite its low accuracy. Improved collaboration between radiologists pediatricians lead better outcomes reduced mortality morbidity neonates infants.
